The best games are the simple ones By Mac Jones of gadgets-4-free Great games don't need fancy graphics or multi-million pound budgets. All they need is a great idea and engrossing game play. For me Asteroids on the original Atari console (partly made of wood!) was one of the most enthralling games of all time. The graphics were very basic and all you had to do was shoot asteroids out of the sky as they came towards you. The better you got the faster they came and the bigger they got. It was great fun and probably still is. Hours would be gone in what seemed like minutes. I say let's go back to basics with some fuss free gadgets that are all about game play and less about eye candy. Who needs those PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles anyway?
