Features of Gran Turismo 5

Gran Turismo 5 (or GT5) is a driving simulation game created by Polyphony Digital and published by Sony under their Computer Entertainment division. The Gran Turismo franchise is exclusive to Sony's PlayStation series of gaming devices and GT5 is the fifth edition of the sequence. The game is expected to be released within the next year, although no firm date has been announced. A Prologue edition is currently available, which is a cut down version of the final game. From the details released so far the new game improves on previous versions in numerous areas. GT5 will have an online feature which will allow up to sixteen players to challenge each other through Sony's PlayStation Network. Such a facility has not been available in the previous four editions of the game. Changing weather will be a feature of GT5. All previous versions of the game have seen consistent 'summer' weather conditions throughout the races. Another new feature are night races. It's not clear whether such races will be available on all tracks or just on certain ones. It is also not known yet if races can commence at dust and progress into the night (or run from night through to dawn). Finally damage will occur to the vehicles during a race, this being another first for the series. This concludes our brief look at the upcoming GT5 game. I'm sure that more details will be revealed as we get closer to the release of the game.
